What is so healthy in lemons?

  Today I feel like I want to share some information about lemons and their properties. Very often when we think of lemons we imagine bitter fruits that help to fight with excessive weight. Which is true, but it is not the only characteristic of those fruits. So here I will briefly comment on the characteristics of this lovely kind of food.

  Among the main benefits of lemons are their strong antibacterial, antiviral and immune-boosting powers. Their usage is very effective as a weight loss supplement because lemon juice is a great digestive aid that help to clean liver. It contains many substances including citric acid, vitamin C, pectin, limonene, calcium, magnesium and bioflavonoids that promote immunity and can fight many infections. In terms of antibacterial properties, lemons are very effective in acne treatment. Vitamin C found in lemons is a great help for glowing skin and alkaline kills some kinds of bacteria that cause acne. Often they are used as a remedy for calluses. One just needs to apply a slice of lemon, bandage it and fasten. As for antiviral properties, it is a great remedy for fever and cold. Those fruits supply vitamin C to defense cells which in turn help to fight bacteria. Especially it is helpful during the first indications of cold when immune-boosting vitamin C can eliminate virus before it spreads. Further to this, drinking lukewarm water with lemon after each meal stimulate the stomach acid production and helps with stomach muscles activity. As an immune-boosting power, lemons are able to fight with fatigue. Lemons often serve as a quick-acting medicine and good refreshments for long distance walkers or travelers. In fact, it is also used by them as a brain simulator. So when one is unable to be focused or feel tired it may be a good idea to drink lemon juice.  Additionally, it is often used as a remedy for infections including eczema. Lemon wraps often serve as a relief from skin infections.

   Additionally, there are a few more areas where lemons could be used. One of them is a remedy for halitosis. In order to keep breath fresh it can be suggested to rinse mouth several times a day with freshly squeezed juice of a lemon in a glass of lukewarm water. Alternatively, one may chew a lemon slice after every meal. Often lemons could be also used by those that suffer from insomnia. It is believed that lemons can promote sleep and reduce anxiety. 

   On the whole, lemons have distinct antibacterial, antiviral and immune boosting powers. They fight with lots of bacteria infections and able to improve a number of skin conditions. Moreover, they can used as a calming therapy for better sleep and as a remedy for halitosis due to its natural bitter and refreshing taste.
